“Promoting excellence in the wise use of our rural and urban natural resources.” |

Program List |

|
The District is very active in New York State's Agricultural Environmental Management (AEM) initiative. AEM is a voluntary program through which the District helps farmers address water quality concerns on their entire farms by coordinating technical and financial assistance. Technical solutions to water quality concerns typically take the form of Best Management Practices (BMPs) which are designed to meet the specific circumstances on each farm. Monitoring of BMP effectiveness accompanies these efforts. Currently, the District is working with USDA NRCS to develop and implement AEM plans for farms in specific watersheds across the county. |
