The Envirothon is designed to: · Test students' knowledge and understanding of topics including soils, aquatics, forestry, wildlife, current environmental issues and oral presentation. · Cultivate students' desire to learn more about our natural resources and environmental issues. · Stimulate students' interests in environmental concerns through the spirit of competition. · Motivate students to further develop their skills and grow into environmentally-aware, action-oriented adults.
The Envirothon experience is a unique approach to environmental education combining the proven concepts of hands-on education with the excitement of a good competition and the fun of spending a day in the outdoors. The result is an effective educational tool which will help our region's schools to nurture environmentally aware students and meet the immediate need to teach more environmental education.
